Studies on Interaction Between Nickel (II) Metal Ions With Substitutedflavanol Spectrophotometrically

The interaction of Ni(II) with 3-hydroxy-6-chloro-8-bromoflavanol and 3-hydroxy-6-chloro-8- nitroflavanol have been investigated spectrophotometrically.The metal ion form 1.1 and 1:2 complexes with both the ligands at pH 4.0 and 6.0 respectively. The change in colour of solution from yellow to brown showed the commencement of complex formation conditional stability constants of 1:1 and 1:2 complex are determined by spectrophotometric technique.
