2-Hydroxy-4-methyl-5-chloro acetophenone hydrazone (HMCAH) and 2-hydroxy-4-methyl-5-chloro- propiophenone-hydrazone (HMCPH) can be used as a gravimetric reagent for Cu (II), Ni (II), Co (II), Fe (II) and Fe (III). The estimation of such metal ions in the presence of different metal ions such as Cd (II). Cr (III), Al (III), Mn (II), Zn (II), Ba (II), Mg (II) has also been carried out. Such metal ions failed to respond. Cu (II), Ni (II) and Co (II) metal ion has also been estimated in binary mixture.
KEYWORDS:Hydroxy; chloro; acetophenone; gravimetric
