Three benzamide derivatives were synthesized. The structures of these compounds have been established on the basis of elemental analyses and NMR spectral data. These compounds have also been tested for their antibacterial activity against gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Micrococcus lutea) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae) bacteria and compared with standard drug Sulfaethidole.
