Fourteen new thiourea derivatives (3-16) bearing imidazoline moiety have been prepared in modest to good yield by the condensation of disubstituted phenyl thiosemicarbazides (1a-b) with substituted azlactones (2a-g) in presence of pyridine. The structures of these compounds have been established on the basis of elemental analyses and spectral (IR and 1H NMR) data. These compound have also been tested for their antimicrobial activity.
KEYWORDS:Imidazolines; Antibacterial; antifungal activity
