Mixed ligand complexes of transition metal chelate of oxygen and nitrogen containing ligand with o-nitrophenol (ONP), 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP), 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) and 1-nitroso-2-naphthol, having general formula ML2.L', where M=Cu(II), L = deprotonated glycine and L'=ONP, DNP, TNP and 1N2N have been prepared and characterized by IR, UV-spectral datas, magnetic and conductance measurements, IR spectra of the complexes suggest that the coordination of the second ligand with Cu(II) metal chelate has taken place through the O-atom and of OH group as well as the N-atom. It also indicates the presence of H-bonding in them. The UV spectral datas and magnetic moment values of the complexes suggest octahedral geometry and molar conductance values of the complexes support their non-electrolytic nature.
