In this present paper theoretical investigation has been carried out to evaluate the mechanism of multiple scattering in laser dusty plasma interaction. In this purpose the concept of stimulated Raman and Brillouin scattering in dusty plasma interaction has been utilized. Consequently the expression for scattering and extinction cross-section has been developed. It has been found that the values of scattering cross section, absorption cross section, extinction cross-section increases with increasing value of the frequency of the incident radiation. It is also observed that in the lower range of the frequency the absorption cross-section may represent the extinction cross-section when the frequency is increased the contribution of scattering cross section to the extinction cross-section also. This is corroborated with the fact that reduced wave length increases the term (2pa/l)4 where a is the radius of the spherical dielectric body. l is the wavelength of the incident radiation. The value of all cross sections decreases with increasing effective permittivity of dusty plasma.
