The study on thermodynamics of ion exchange equilibrium for uni-bivalent Cl- /SO4 2- and Cl- /C2O4 2- reaction systems was carried out using ion exchange resin Indion-102.The equilibrium constant K was calculated by taking into account the activity coefficient of ions both in solution as well as in the resin phase. The K values calculated for Cl- /SO4 2- and Cl- /C2 O4 2- reaction systems were observed to decrease with rise in temperature having enthalpy values of 16.28 and 16.14 kJ /mol respectively, indicating endothermic ion exchange reactions.
